Play the Ballon Favor Game

Need a quick family game with no prep that anyone can play? Want to keep it to a budget? We got you.

We’ve got a few “favors” games here on BCP. We even did a 2.0 version of the favors game. This year the game is a bit more of a game and a lot of fun!

Every single family member gets 3 balloons and 3 post-it notes or cut strips of paper.

On one note, you write your name. The other 2 remain blank.

Each paper goes in a balloon (one in each). Blow it up and tie it closed.

You will now have 3 balloons per person, some with names, but most of them empty. For example, if you are playing it with 10 people you will now have 30 balloons.

Using a long wooden skewer in left hand to pop a hot pink balloon in right hand.

The first player gets up and announces a favor/gift he/she will give. For example, I will babysit for you for one hour, I will buy you an ice coffee,  or I will give you written dinner menu ideas for the week.

That first player takes a balloon and pops it. If it has a name written on the paper, then great! That person will get the prize/ favor.

If it’s blank. The first player now has to up his/her prize.

I will babysit for 1.5 hours.

Or – I’m going to buy you ice coffee AND a muffin.

I will give you written dinner ideas for 2 weeks!

A popped balloon with a piece of paper with a name on it.

When you get a name you sit down and the next player goes.

If the second balloon popped is blank, you keep upping the value of the prize until the player pops a balloon with a name.

You can set rules – all the favors/ gifts have to be free (your time) or stick to a budget (under $5…)

We’ve got lots of great Chanukah games, see our Ultimate Chanukah Game Roundup here!
