Need to quick shine? Or a professional job at home? Here’s how to get that shoe shining done yourself.

With Shabbos and Yom Tov in their high time, we thought it’s time to get those shoes shiny and polished.

Let’s start with a basic method. And for the sake of simplicity we’re going to stick with black polish.

  • The Quick Polish

In a rush? Don’t buff. Just get that shoe shiny quickly and restore the color in that faded leather. Just clean the shoe and press the applicator of this
Kiwi Color Shine Liquid Polish (or  at Walmart) against the shoe. This quickie version won’t last so long, so it’s a good option when you’re in a rush, or for kids shoes that might need a polish often.

  1. The Professional Polish

Let’s move on to getting those shoes looking like they were professionally polished. We called one of the busiest shoe repair shops and they told us their favorite brand is Kiwi. This is the brand they use daily to polish the shoes they repair.

Start with one container of this Shoe Polish Paste or the kit ( at Walmart). If you are looking for something that has high gloss you would want to try Parade Gloss option.

To apply the polish, you need any rag (any that you have at home), or you can use an applicator brush. After applying the polish, you’ll need a large brush to buff the shoe and get it shiny.

Here is an option to purchase both together on Amazon or Walmart.

That’s all you need! With those three items (polish, applicator brush, and buffing brush), you can have a professional shoe shine whenever you like.

Ah, there one more thing. Do you really like that really shiny shoe look? You might want to try
Master Shine Spray (or at Walmart). This is best used in addition to regular polish, just go over the shoe by giving it a quick spray.

Please note: Amazon prices are always changing; we provided Walmart links next to them for another option.
